Meadowlands

Continental Airlines Arena is home to the NBA's New Jersey Nets, the NHL's New Jersey Devils, Seton Hall Men's Basketball and hundreds of different events.

Countless LEGENDARY moments in sports and entertainment history have taken place in the Continental Airlines Arena. The Devils have won three Stanley Cups in the last nine years (1995, 2000, 2003) and the Nets advanced to the NBA Finals the past two years (2002, 2003). Continental Arena has also hosted the NBA All-Star Game in 1982, the NHL All-Star Game in 1984, and the NCAA Men's Final Four in 1996.

Continental Arena has been graced by the greatest stars in modern music. It boasts a STATE-OF-THE-ART acoustical structure designed to provide audiences with excellent sound and an optimum view no matter where they're seated. Continental Arena opened in July 1981 with six sold-out shows by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Springsteen has frequently been back to the Meadowlands including a record 15 sold-out performances at the arena in 1999. Overall, Springsteen has sold-out 44 concerts at the arena and 16 at Giants Stadium making him the Meadowlands' top-selling artist. Other artists that have performed at the Arena include Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna, U2, Celine Dion, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, Britney Spears and Eminem -- making Continental Arena one of the top concert venues in the country.

The Arena has received multiple industry awards since opening in 1981, including the "Prime Site Award" from Facilities and Event Management magazine; it was named "ARENA OF THE YEAR" a record eight times by Performance magazine and voted "#1 Grossing Arena in North America " by Amusement Business in 1999.

From the Nets to the Devils, it's always wall-to-wall THRILLS AND CHILLS at Continental Airlines Arena. It's not just the sporting events that keep this place packed. With corporate events and family shows including Disney on Ice, Harlem Globetrotters, Sesame Street Live, WWE, Champions On Ice and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, we make sure kids of all ages stay on the edge of their seats.

More than 54 million people have attended nearly 5,000 events at Continental Airlines Arena since it opened in 1981.

Whether it's a sold-out Giants or Jets game, or one of the most anticipated concerts of the year, Giants Stadium has played host to the most JAW-DROPPING events imaginable. With over 50 live events a year, there's always something incredible going on.

It all began on October 10, 1976, when a sellout crowd of over 76,000 fans witnessed the National Football League Giants play the Cowboys in the Stadium's inaugural game. Since then, Giants Stadium has been the site of PIVOTAL football contests, both collegiate and NFL. It's also home to Major League Soccer's MetroStars as well as numerous international soccer matches.

Besides being the only stadium in the country to house two NFL teams, Giants Stadium is also a leading concert facility. Named 2003 #1 TOP-GROSSING STADIUM WORLDWIDE by Billboard magazine, it has been host to major televised events such as FIFA World Cup Soccer, the closing ceremonies of the Statue of Liberty Centennial celebration and Pope John Paul II's Papal Mass.

Intelligently designed to provide unobstructed sight lines for every fan, the Stadium has also received high marks from professional athletes and the media for its spacious team rooms, press rooms, interview areas and well-equipped training facilities. Giants Stadium has truly earned its NATIONAL REPUTATION as one of the finest facilities in the country.

Whether you're a die-hard sports fan, an entertainment aficionado, or a person who wants to find out what keeps 6 million patrons coming back each year; The Meadowlands Experience Tour at the Meadowlands Sports ComplexSM offers an insiders look at this sprawling entertainment oasis.
